Environment
Slugs like to be in moist places with lots of food and water. If there is not enough water the slug will shrivel up and die. You don't want the slug to have to much waster though.
Eat
Slugs will eat plants, fungus, decaying vegetable material. They are not very picky eaters so if you give them something, usually they will eat it.
Life Span
The life span of a slug is between one to six years. It usually depends on their environment. If it is fairly dry they won't live very long, but if it is very wet with moisture they can live a long time.
Life Cycle
There are three stages in the life cycle: eggs, immature stage and adult.

Slime?!?!
All slugs and snails need moisture to survive. They travel on the ground over a layer of slimy mucus. This mucus is what causes the trail of slime that is left behind. Their body needs to have a higher than average water content to produce the mucus.
