I looked in our container today and it looks like my plants are being over watered. The reason I think that is because, they are starting to turn yellow. Hopefully that will not kill all my plants before the break is up. If all my plants die my ecosystem will be over.

Oxygen

Today I measured the oxygen and CO2 level. The oxygen has gone down a little, so the CO2 has gone up. That means my plants are not producing enough oxygen. Hopefully the will started getting use to the environment and start producing more. If the do not, eventually that animals and insects will die from lack of oxygen, so the plants will not have enough CO2; there for the plants will also die.

Today we sealed up the container today. We tested the PH, Oxygen, and Carbon Dioxide. I was right about my prediction, the plants did grow.  My prediction now is that the plants will produce more oxygen since we sealed it up.

Over Thanksgiving break, my prediction is that the ecosystem will be very productive. I think some of the bugs will die, but I also think the plants will all grow a lot. I can't wait to go back and see if the ecosystem is going to survive without any help from us.

Today I opened the lid and it had a fowl smell. The smell is from the plants and dead animals breaking down. The Kentucky Blue Grass has also doubled in size. The red ants are also adapting to the environment. I can't wait to see how many changes the ecosystem will have when I get back from Thanksgiving Break!

I opened the lid this morning and my lima beans have doubled in size! I also brought red ants to put in our ecosystem. This will give the lizard and spiders more food to eat when I seal it up for good. We also added a banana peel, which will feed insects and break down for nutrients.

Today the water started condensing on the top of the container. The water in running down the side of the wall more now. Our lizard changed from green to a brown color. The log in breaking down very fast now.

Today our teacher brought us frogs and lizards. My partner and I chose a lizard. It's scientific name is anole lizard, which means he can change colors. Later on in the day I will be puttting information about the lizard on my website.

Today my partner and I added worms to our ecosystem. Worms are decomposers wich break down dead things in the ecosystems. Threw out the next few weeks we will see changes from the dead things breaking down over time.

I came into class today and noticed my duck weed in my pond have multiplied! That shows you has fast plants can grow in a single night!
